If it is due to allergies, the allergens themselves may be causing redness, or you may be rubbing them often because they are itchy. If you have allergies that are affecting your eyes, you should take medication to help clear them and to make them feel less itchy. If you have dry eyes, a medicated eye drop may be needed to help add moisture. Redness caused by straining can be prevented by making sure you give your eyes a break from time to time, taking technology breaks throughout the day, and making sure to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed to prevent straining to see.
